Light decoder (lamps or LEDs switched separately) |
Страница 1 из 2 Decoder of the Z1-series (Standard and all-on-one class) can switch lamps or LEDs separately on each function output. You can manually configure the decoder yourself, or you acquire a pre-configured Qdecoder-light decoder and save the configuration of the configuration variables.
Currently, there are the following pre-configured decoder in the light decoder shop:
Type of decoder | based on | function outputs | | Characteristics |
| | switched against + | switched against - | switched against +/- | | |

Light decoder of the Z1 series can switch function outputs independently against a positive common return conductor. Each output can be switched on and off with an accessory address. |

ZH1-8 |

Light decoder of the ZH1 series can switch 8 function outputs independently against a negative common return conductor. Each output can be switched on and off with an accessory address. |
Z2-8 |

Decoder of the Z2 series are able to switch light bulbs or LEDs against a positive or negative common return conductor. If LEDs are connected in antiparallel manner between two function outputs, one of them will always be on while the other one is off. If they are connected to the common return conductor the decoder behaves like a Z1 or ZH1 - switching every LED separately. |

This decoder switches six compartments (tomatic or with the use of function keys) in a car as well as the tail lamps |
Switching of the function outputs
The switching of the function outputs can be done:
function output | Accessory commands | Function key | as running light (only with an all-in-one decoder) |
CV60 = 4 |
CV60 = 1 |
CV60 = 8 |
A0 |
the first accessory address green = switch on red = switch off |
F0 of the first locomotive address |
all function outputs will be switched on successively for 500 ms each. |
A1 |
the second accessory address |
F1 of the first locomotive address |
A2 |
the third accessory address |
F2 of the first locomotive address |
A3 |
the fourth accessory address |

It is possible to switch up to eight single LEDs or lights with one Z1-8. The light operation modes have different use cases:
- If the signal aspect of complex light signal are not created in the decoder but in the PC control software, a a signal lamp is connected to each function output. These lamps will be switched on/off with an own accessory address according to the desired signal aspect.
This operation mode is particularly suitable for permanent switched signal lamps. In this case, the load of the digital system is only slightly increased. In flash or pulse operation on the other hand, each switching needs to be triggered by a switch command. This causes a significant load for the digital system.
- Each function output can be switched on and off separately for the control of house or street lights or illuminated signs.
You can connect both bulbs and LEDs (via a resistor) to the outputs of the Z1. If connecting LEDs, please note that the connector has positive potential. You have to connect the cathode of the LEDs with the connectors and respectively. When operating with LEDs, a series resistor is required. Use a series resistor of 1.5kOhm in conjunction with a AC power supply of 16V. If the LEDs are not bright enough, decrease this resistor (1 kOhm), if they are too bright, increase it.
